From morning to night …

Socializing is just as important for your dog as it is for you! In addition to forming friendships, it prepares them for a broad range of situations that will occur over their life. Socializing not only improves how your dog interacts with other dogs but also how they interact with unfamiliar objects, people and places. Without proper socialization, dogs can become fearful, anxious or aggressive when put into an unfamiliar situation. With a regular schedule and trusted relationships, dogs will gain confidence and independence.

At KYON, all the dogs are encouraged to socialize together with proper supervision to ensure their safety. With a large play area the dogs can spend time doing what they love most, running around with their friends. Even shy dogs will develop connections and friendships that will bring them out of their shell!

Socializing.

Did you know puppies sleep up to 20 hours a day; while adult dogs sleep 12-15 hours a day? This means dogs spend over half the day napping! Unlike humans, dogs sleep throughout the day, not just at night. It's important for dogs to get enough sleep. Sleep plays a crucial role in immune function, cognitive health, hormones, and elevates the dog's mood overall.

At KYON, we provide a separate space for dogs that want to sleep while others want to play. Although our dogs have access to the nap area at any point in the day, the whole pack is encouraged to sleep all together from 11:00-12:00 and 3:00-4:00. Many owners are shocked to see their energetic dog napping with others and are surprised that they all relax at the same time! With calming voices and lots of petting, the dogs feel like they are at a 5-star hotel. ★★★★★

Although the amount of exercise a dog needs changes depending on breed, it is nonetheless the most important aspect of all dogs’ lives. Exercising your dog helps control obesity, keeps their joints limber, and helps their mental health. Dogs that do not get enough exercise tend to get anxious, bored, and frustrated. They then express their pent up energy in negative ways such as chewing furniture, excessive barking, and aggressive behaviour.

At KYON, we motivate the dogs to exercise throughout their stay. We are the only daycare in Toronto that offers up to 4 full walks (15-20 minutes each) per day!
